A Very Good Weekend!

Well, this has ended up being a very productive end of the week and weekend! Where do I even start?? How about a picture of my new baby? I promised that I would take a picture of it to show you. This is the Bernina Aurora 440. I have been enjoying this so much I can't even tell you!

So my DH and DS were away this weekend. So it was just my DD and I or so I thought. She ended up going to a friend's house on Friday night and so I had a whole evening to myself with no one around to interrupt me and no work!! Yippee!! So I finished my Lizzie Kate Flip-It for June and I started on July. Here are these two.

So that was great and then I went into my craft room and started cutting out another quilting project. I am going to make a little bag for the kids to put their toothbrushes and such in for when they are traveling. I am coming along nicely there.

Well, I was in a pretty good mood and so I allowed DD to let her friend come and stay overnight with her. My ulterior motive was that I wanted to go to the cross stitch shop and two quilting stores yesterday and I thought she wouldn't mind to have a little friend along to keep her company.

I went to Sew Elegant where I bought my sewing machine so that I could ask a few questions and of course purchase some things for my stash. I bought some beautiful fabric to make a beginner quilt. It doesn't look too difficult, but we will see. Then we went to my LNS and I picked up my May that was done and dropped off June. And of course, added a couple of new things to my stash there as well.

Then it was off to find a quilting store that is supposed to be relatively close to my LNS. Well after a little driving around and a bribe of ice cream (really it was 86 degrees yesterday!), I finally found it and boy did I hit the mother load!! I don't think that I have ever been to a fabric store with that many bolts of fabric! I am definitely going to have to go back without little ones in tow.

That brings me to today. I have been sewing and doing handwork for many years, but I did go through a period of time where I was very much into scrapbooking. However, it just didn't fit with me as well as the fabric did. So today, I moved all the scrapbooking out of my craft room and turned it back into a sewing room. I was so happy!! Then my DD and started to work on a table runner that we bought the pattern and fabric for yesterday. It has flip flops on it and boy are the colors bright, but she loves it!! So I will take some pics of that when we start to make progress.

Well, it is late and I have to get up early. All in all, this was a great weekend!! I feel very productive!

My New Toy and Other Accomplishments

I have been a busy busy girl!! I got my new Bernina and I LOVE IT!! I can't stop playing with it. It is wonderful! I wish that I would have bought one years ago. I will have to take a picture of it to show you. I totally forgot.

But here is one of my first projects that I made with it. I have quite a few of the pen drives to save things on. They were just scattered in my desk. So this is a case to keep them in. I thought it turned out so cute for my first project!! Now I have to make another one to put all my SD cards into.

I have been able to do a little bit of stitching in between playing with my new sewing machine. Here is the progress that I have made on the July Monthly Flip-It from Lizzie Kate. I just have to put the word on and the border and fill in the heart. That won't take long at all.

I am off to exercise now and then have a bite to eat. We have to go and pick up DH's truck that was being worked on today and that is interfering with my stitching time!! LOL!

Yesterday's Adventures

I have not been stitching too much over these past couple of days unfortunately. I think that I am finally getting over this cold. Boy, I do not like being sick!! My DD got it and missed a day of school. She absolutely loves school and it just frustrated her to no end to stay home that day. Then yesterday DH got it as well and missed a day of work. He slept most of the day. Knock on wood that DS hasn't gotten it. I hope that he doesn't.

So while DH was home sick yesterday, I went on the kindergarten field trip to the zoo. The kids has so much fun. We ran all over the zoo and still wish that we had more time. The only bad part was that the bus drivers took the long way down to begin with and then got lost when we got close. They did however learn their lesson and take the shorter way home and didn't get lost. So that was a good thing! LOL! Here is a picture of the kids underneath the shark tank. I thought that this picture was really cool.

I will be working today and then hopefully finishing that Lizzie Kate Monthly Flip-It tonight so that I can take it for mounting tomorrow.

And I am SO excited!! My new Bernina is in and so I am going to pick it up tomorrow and learn how to use some of it. I think that it will take me a while to figure it all out, but I can't wait!!

I am off to work so I hope that everyone has a good day and I hope that you are having the same beautiful weather that we are right now!!

Oops!

I guess I was feeling a lot worse last night than I thought. I totally didn't realize that I had already posted about my Lavender & Lace Angel. LOL!! Oh well.

So here is one that I did quite a long time ago by Just Nan. It is called "Liberty". She is one of my favorites. I have her hanging above my desk.
I seem to lean towards decorating a lot in my house with red, white and blue. I am not quite sure how I got to that, but I am just drawn towards it. I love decorating in the summer and most of it is with red, white and blue.

Well, off to do a little more work. I will post more later. Hopefully I will have a little more progress on my Flip-It done.

Lizzie Kate and Lavender & Lace

Unfortunately I did not get nearly as much stitching done this weekend as I would have liked to because I have caught a terrible cold and so has my DD. We are both miserable and hoping it goes away SOON!!

Here is a picture of the most recent Lizzie Kate Monthly Flip-It that I have started. This is for the month of June. I only have June, July and August left to do. I wasn't sure I was going to like this one, but I think that I really do.

Then, I also have a picture of the first Lavender & Lace that I have tried to do, Angel of the Morning. I absolutely LOVE her. She is coming along very nicely, but I won't tell you how long I have truly been working on her. LOL!!

So hopefully when I get up in the morning I will be feeling a little bit better. Hopefully my DD will be too. If not, she will be staying home from school, which will make her VERY mad. Thankfully, she absolutely LOVES school and never wants to miss any of it.

Easter for us was very good. The kids always do a scavenger hunt to find their Easter baskets and they have so much fun doing it. This year was no exception. It was great.

Did you all see that I have been changing around the background and such on my blog? I am not sure about it. I adore flip flops, but I just wonder if this one is too busy. Let me know what you think about it!

I will post more pictures tomorrow, when I can breathe a little better through my nose.....UGH!! Till then, Happy Stitching!!

More Progress on LHN

Here is the progress that I have made on "From Sea To Shining Sea". I am so amazed at how quickly this one is going. This will be done in no time. I hope that tonight or tomorrow I can have this second one done and start on the third one this weekend.

I have to take the kids to the dentist today. Yippee! They hate it and so do I. So I am taking one of my Lizzie Kate Monthly Flip-It Blocks with me to work on. I have June, July and August left to do. I will try to get some pictures of the rest of them posted. They are too cute.

Well, I am off for now to get ready to go. I have some work left to do this afternoon. But I think some will have to wait until we get back from the dentist's office and the little bit of errands that I need to get done.

Testing out posting by phone

I have just registered my Blackberry and I am testing to see how this works. It amazes me the things that you can do with these devices now.

New Sewing Machine

I am so excited!! I just ordered a new sewing machine!! I have not done a lot of sewing recently, but I really would like to start again. Some of the pieces are so expensive to have finished and I think that with a little practice, I could do it on my own and save some $$!! I got a new Bernina Aurora 440 QE and this month it comes with a FREE embroidery module!! I can't wait to get it!

I just got done exercising and so now I am off to shower and then tonight I am back to "From Sea To Shining Sea". I am moving right along on it and I will post a picture of my progress tonight when I am done stitching. We don't have many plans for this weekend so I think that I will spend a lot of it stitching away!! Yippee!!

More Projects

I have not stitched much today. However, I was pulling threads to finish my last three Lizzie Kate Flip-Its Monthly Block Series. I also took some other pictures of projects that I have finished. This is the Christmas Elf from Mirabilia that I am working on right now.

Here is a Lizzie Kate Snippet that I just finished recently. It is the first Halloween piece that I have done. I think that it came out really cute.
Tomorrow is an early morning so I am off. Tomorrow I hope to get more stitching done. I want to work more on "From Sea To Shining Sea".

Yesterday's Accomplishments

Yesterday was a nice relaxing day. We didn't have anything planned and I was able to work out and then work on some different projects. I repaired some shirts and pants for my DH. He is harder on clothes than anyone that I know.

I had to do some alterations to DD's dance costume. This year she is a dinosaur. Quite the interesting costume. Here is a picture of the ballet part of the costume.

Then after all that "work" was done, I was actually able to stitch on some fun things!! I worked some more on the 'From Sea To Shining Sea' by LHN. And I worked on my Lavender and Lace angel that I haven't worked on for a very long time! Here are a couple of pictures to my progress on those.

Today we are off to get DD's pictures taken in her costume and to get groceries. YUCK!! That is definitely NOT one of my favorite things to do!!

Time for bed soon

Today was certainly a long day, but I did manage to get a little stitching in on my 'From Sea To Shining Sea'. I have started to work on the second house called 'The Southwest'. This project is actually moving quite quickly for being a larger project.

I did take some pictures today. I promised you one of my newest Longaberger basket that I am storing some of my stitching goodies in. So that is what you see here.

I also took some pictures of my needlework today. So I will post one here this evening as it is late and I have to get up early tomorrow.....or I guess I should say today.

This is a Lizzie Kate Snippet that I think any stitcher would love to have. I absolutely adore it. I just finished it a couple of months ago.

One last thing before I head to bed. Remember that April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This violence has affected someone that you know, whether you realize it or not. Support your local rape crisis centers and wear your teal ribbons all month to raise awareness.

Waiting on The Saab

So instead of getting much accomplished today, I am in Wexford waiting for them to fix my Saab. Luckily it is still under warranty. But it is going to take all day. Finally after two hours of sitting in the waiting room, they gave me a loaner car. So I am having lunch at Panera and doing some work. I have to run some errands and then I will come back here if they aren't done with my truck so I can use the wireless again. Wish me luck!!
